Greetings! Once again it has been far too long since my last missive, but rest assured the gears turn, the work continues, and I plug away on this journey. A few of you may have noticed the rumblings on my Instagram feed as a new venture has finally taken shape in recent weeks, but it is now official:
The Antiquated Modern can be found on the
Brookland Arts Walk in Washington, DC!!
716 Monroe Street Northeast, Studio 20, Washington, DC 20017
The studio is usually open Thursday evenings and Saturdays from about 9:00am (hey, we're artists - schedules are, like, restrictive, man). In addition, I am available by appointment and have been spending several additional evenings there each week setting up and settling in.
At the moment we are getting ready for FotoWeekDC which opens this weekend! Our show wall will featuring a selection of silver gelatin prints from my "Street" work. Michael is showing his "Romantic" platinum/palladium prints, and Lisa is showing "Champion" screen printed photo stencils on canvas. We are also welcoming a guest artist, Jacob Sarashon, who will be showing archival inkjet prints from his "Portraits" series.
Please feel free to visit and take a look - I'll be putting in extra hours throughout next week (follow @theantiquatedmodern on Instagram for details), and join us Thursday November 16th from 6:00pm-8:00pm for a special reception during this month's Third Thursday. Several other FotoWeek events will be happening on the Arts Walk as well! Check out all the events:
In addition to our FotoWeek installations, you can see some works in progress, including a few unique prints from a new series currently in development, photobook dummies, and photo collage pieces. Also available are inkjet prints of over 40 of my color photos in a variety of sizes.
So to top it all off, let's celebrate the launch of my residency in this new space with 20% OFF all purchases of my prints made in the studio through the end of 2017. Wall art makes for wonderful holiday gifts ... *hint hint* ...
Hope to see you at Studio 20 on the Brookland Arts Walk!
