lun.r.001.12: Surfacing

from $50.00

This series of lunar photographs focuses on reducing the visual experience to its most profound elements, depicting the moon as it appeared in the sky over Washington, DC between July 2019 and January 2021. Amid celebration of the 50th anniversary of NASA’s Apollo moon landing on July 20th, 1969, with its proliferation of tributes, stories, lectures, exhibitions, documentaries, podcasts, and other events that gathered us together to revel in human achievement, my attentions shifted to focus on the object itself, the celestial orb whose alien beauty inspired us to push the limits of our explorations beyond our own globe.

Each piece is limited to an edition of two 4.5”x6” prints and two 12”x16” prints. Prints are made with archival Epson K3 pigment inks on bartya satin finish fine art paper, individually signed and dated, shipped mounted in a white conservation mat in a protective polyethylene sleeve.
